Important Information

The Session:

Length: 1 ½ hours long

Aim: To embed a free-play approach, that provides children with the space, opportunities and freedom to become independent, creative and curious about the great outdoors.

Activities: These will differ each week and will include: building dens, forest crafts and using tools, building bird feeders and fairy houses etc. We also have lots of play opportunities using water, loose parts and we have a brilliant sand pit.

Kit List:

Spring/Summer recommendations

• Sun hat

• Sun cream

• Long trousers preferably in case of ticks

• Water Bottle

• Rainsuit

• Wellie boots/Trainers (old)

Autumn/Winter recommendations

• Hat, scarf and gloves

• Rainsuit

• Thermals if necessary

• Wellie boots/Outdoor boots

• Warm socks

• Layered clothing

You may wish to bring a change of clothing, we can get very muddy!

Safety Rules:

• Parents/carers are responsible for supervising their children at all times

• Please always listen to the leader’s instructions particularly around tools and fire

• Stay within the agreed boundaries

• Respect the environment

Health and Wellbeing:

• First aid kit and a first aider will always be on site

• The area, equipment and activities will always be risk assessed before each session

• Please inform the leader of any allergies, medical needs and additional support needed

• Leaders and volunteers will undertake background checks (PVG)

Cancellations and Contacts:

In the case of severe weather, the session will be cancelled for safety reasons and a full refund will be given.
